5 Things I am Grateful for This Week

I have absolutely so much to be grateful for this week and this past month that I would like to share with you all.

1. I am so grateful (as I have already mentioned many, many times) to have such a hilarious and supportive family. I am not sure how I got so lucky. It is seriously a miracle and I feel so blessed to have all of them in my life.

2. I am grateful for my health. There were a few weeks were I wasn’t feeling too well but after visiting the doctor and finding out that I am a totally fine and have nothing to worry about I feel silly for worrying in the first place and just very grateful that I am healthy.

3. I am grateful for my dreadlock growth. They have sprouted sooooo much in the last few weeks and I am so happy with there growth and I can’t wait till they are a little longer!

4. I am grateful to still have followers after my brief absence from my blog! Thank you all for your find words and commenting on my posts. I really appreciate it and love hearing all the wonderful things that you have to say.

5. I am grateful for the amazing weather in California. I am so happy that I live in such a beautiful place that such unbelievable weather. There is absolutely no excuse to not go outside.

I hope you all have a lovely week and take some time to reflect on things that you are grateful for in your lives!

5 Things I am Grateful for This Week

I have a lot of things to be grateful for in my life but there are a few things that happened this week that have made we feel especially thankful and I would like to share them with you.

My Dogs
My dogs can be butt heads. They are puppies so they like to chew up my wires and shoes but they are also hilarious and always energetic and happy to see me. This week they went to the groomers and it was weird that they weren’t in the house for a little while. It felt empty and too quiet. It made me realize how grateful I am to have them around all the time and that I have such amazing dogs.

A New Business Opportunity
I had struggled to find a job that I not only enjoyed but made money doing and after searching for months I have finally found one and I am so happy that I did. I feel like I was meant to do what I am doing and I am grateful to have been given this opportunity.

My Supportive Family
My family is so supportive it is crazy. More supportive than I could have ever dreamed of them being and I am so thankful. They truly inspire me and I couldn’t ask for a better family to be a part of.

My Art Teachers
I have recently re-re-begun drawing and painting and I love it. I have always loved drawing and I am glad that even after I haven’t done so in a little while my ability to draw and paint hasn’t gone away. I am also thankful for the teachers who took the time to teach me how to draw. It is not a talent that you are born with or at least I definitely wasn’t and I am grateful for them all believing in my.

That The Neighbors is Coming Out on Friday
OMG! I have been waiting for this movie to come out since I saw the previews in theaters months ago. It looks hilarious and the commercial cracks me up every time I see it. I rarely go see movies opening night but I will be seeing this one come this Friday!

What are you guys grateful for?

I hope you all have a lovely week!

Christmas Colored Nick Nacks in April?

Some of you may be asking yourselves “why is she blogging about Christmas colored nick nacks in April?” and the answer to that question is I don’t know!

I love Christmas! With a sincere passion, as I am sure that many of you do. I genuinely feel happier and more upbeat come Christmas time than I do during any other time of the year. People are constantly singing, abc family has some of the greatest Christmas movies on, the music is fantastic, and oh yea you get presents! You get to get and give presents! What could be better than that?

I came across all the items featured above in my house and I thought “well why don’t I photograph them because they look so good together!” The bottle is some sort of decoration and has a cool metal handle/flip kind of thing that seals the top. I believe the tin box was originally filled with cookies from last Christmas and now makes the cutest little decoration. Last but not least are my sisters clear, heart-shaped sunglasses. Not sure what the point of heart-shaped clear sunglasses is but they are adorable and look good on everyone.

Just photographing a bunch of Christmas colored items made me significantly happier even though Christmas is 9 months away. Part of me wishes that people were always as happy as they are around Christmas time, but I guess part of the joy of the holiday is that it only comes once a year.

I encourage everyone to feel as happy as they do during Christmas time, everyday. Maybe looking through some of your holiday decorations will inspire you to feel those holiday feelings you get in December. Just because it is months away doesn’t mean you can’t feel the spirit all year round!

I hope you all have a lovely day!

The Importance of Jotting Down your Thoughts

Anyone who has read this blog for like one minute is aware that I have an obsession with jotting down my thoughts and ideas. I always have multiple journals at one time and whenever I have an idea that I think is absolutely brilliant I have to write it down right away. I am not sure why I do this, its kind of something that I have always done since I was little and unlike wetting the bed I thought it was a good character trait that I should maintain throughout adulthood.

At any given time I have a motivational journal, daily planner, journals for the projects that I am working on, (including my blog) and even a diary. It seems like every element of my life is written in some journal on the floor in my room. Clearly I care for them dearly.

Although, I occasionally can not find these journals, like when my sister stole my diary and I had a mental breakdown (that was last week) I take the act of handwritten journal jointing (like the name?) very seriously. I believe that it has genuinely helped me throughout my life organize my thoughts and most importantly not forget all my fabulous ideas. Like an app that allows you to take a picture of an actor and see what movies they have appeared in. However, that could lead to pandemonium and people would become paparazzi and we already have enough of those…I can see Russell Crowe now screaming in the streets saying “I’m the f$%#ing Gladiator, how do you not know that?” So not all my ideas are very good.

Anyways, the real reasons why I believe writing down your thoughts is very important are the same reasons that everyone who has ever written anything believes that they are important. Because you now have created a place to work on and perfect your idea. You have taken the time to create something that you believe in and can later go back and refine until you have shaped it into what you want it to be. Because we have thousands of thoughts everyday and there is no way that we can keep track of all of them and maintain a healthy and happy lifestyle. So we can have something to look back on in our old and lovely age and say “oh my! I was crazy in my twenties!” And because we are all innovative creators with brilliant ideas and thoughts we don’t necessarily want to share with everyone via social media. Clearly, I don’t apply to that one.

All in all this post was written to encourage everyone to write more, especially by hand, that concept is going out the window faster than America’s lustrous feelings for James Franco and its sad. Jot down a doodle or two and you will be happy that you did so later on in life. Also, it may help you see plainly what you value and find important.

I hope you all have a lovely hump day!

5 Things I am Grateful for this Week!

Hi everyone!

This week hasn’t exactly been the best week so far this year but nonetheless I have many things to be grateful for and I would like to share them with you.

To have such a hilarious Gramma!
I kid you not when I say that my Gramma is one of the most hilarious people in the world. She keeps me laughing and always has a really positive outlook on life. She knows just about everyone in Los Angeles and I am always amazed when we go to a restaurant and she seems to know everyone there but I guess when you are that amazing people gravitate towards you.

To have such a loving and beautiful mother.
This week was my moms “27th” (actually 42nd) birthday and we all went out to dinner and had a great time! She is such a happy, beautiful soul and even through tough times she always keeps her head up and I admire her strength so much.

To have spent time with my friends.
This week I got the chance to hang out with some friends that I hadn’t seen in a while and it is always so fun to catch up with people you don’t always get the chance to see and share your weird, adult stories with them. I live for those sorts of moments and I am so grateful to have such kind friends who I can just laugh and shoot the breeze with.

Hot water
Earlier this week I turned on the shower, waited for it to heat up, and hopped in only to alarmed by the freezing cold temperature of the water. Something was wrong with the heater and if I wanted to take a shower I would have to take one with cold water. Luckily it was fixed the next day but I realized that I take the presence of hot water for granted. There are so many people who do not have access to hot water or even clean drinking and bathing water and that experience has made me more aware of how fortune I am to have hot water, something that I previously have taken for granted.

All my followers!
I wanted to give a much overdo shout out to everyone who follows and reads my blog. You guys are the reason that I created this site and I really appreciate all your kind words and comments. I love interacting with everyone online and my little space on the interweb where I can share my thoughts and opinions with you all has made me a much happier person. I can’t thank you guys enough!

I hope you guys have a happy Sunday and a great week!

March Favorites

March favorites photo
Hey, everyone! I hope you all had a great weekend!

Since March is coming to an end and tomorrow will be the first day of April (crazy how fast time flies) I decided that today would be the best day for me to share my March favorites with you. I will continue doing a list of my favorite beauty products, songs, clothing, books and so on every month, so make sure you come back at the end of each month to check out that post!

The Body Shop Vanilla Body Mist
I purchased the Vanilla Body Mist a little while ago from the Body Shop because I am a fan of simple scents and I usually where a body mist along with a perfume everyday. For anyone who was an all over scent that is not too strong but still alluring this is the scent for you. It lasts all day and is not too heavy. It’s also perfect for a day at the beach!

Diorshow Black Out Mascara
This mascara should actually be featured on my life favorites more than my monthly favorites because I have been using it constantly for years. I got this tube of Diorshow Black Out Mascara using a gift card I got for Christmas. One tube is $26 dollars which is an absurd amount of money for a mascara but Diorshow is actually worth it. It is pitch black and the wand drastically elongated the appearance of your eyelashes along with adding volume with every stroke. I am hooked on this mascara and am yet to encounter a brand that I like more.

The Secret
The Secret came out in 2006 and was the biggest thing in the world at the time. Everyone was obsessed but I only recently watched it and now realize why everyone was hooked. The Secret is about the Law of Attraction and how positive thoughts and feelings can transform our lives for the better. It features an array of life coaches, financial analysts, and scientists who paint a simple picture of how our thoughts and feelings create the story of our lives. For anyone who is in the process of transforming their life I think this would be a good feature to watch.

blink by Malcolm Gladwell
I have read blink about one and a half times and refer back to it often throughout my life. It is a book by Malcolm Gladwell that illustrates how the difference between good decision making and bad decision making has less to do with how much information we have about a topic, and more to do with our ability to focus on a few particular details. Gladwell explains using real life examples from everyday people, how we can all become better decision makers.

Nirvana Live at Reading
I received this DVD from a friend of my mothers probably a year or two ago but I had never watched it for some reason although I have always been a big fan of Nirvana and Kurt Cobain. New photographs and information from Kurt Cobain’s death have been released to the public this month and after reading a few articles and seeing the graphic images I was reminded that I had this DVD and wanted to watch it as a way to keep my pristine and grudgy image of Kurt Cobain alive. The performance took place at the Reading Festival in England in 1992 and the band played their greatest songs including Breed, School, About a Girl, and Lithium. The DVD is available online and if anyone is a fan of Nirvana I recommend you buy it. You will not be disappointed.

What have you guys been listening to, using, and watching this month? Do you have any favorites?

I hope you enjoyed my post!

Happy Monday!

Totally Rad Pandora Station’s

Music is a fundamental part of my life. I am constantly listening to music whether it’s the newest radio chart toppers or some rockin’ oldies. If I am not listening to songs on my iTunes account I am checking out new stations on Pandora. Pandora allows its listeners to create their own radio stations based on an artist or even a specific song. They tailor that station to match the style and sound of the whatever song you choose. It is perfect for anyone who wants to create a playlist based on their new favorite song but can’t decide which songs to add because Pandora does it for you. Below is a list that I have compiled of some of my favorite Pandora Radio Stations that I believe are totally rad! Enjoy!

Lana Del Rey Radio

With her smooth and sensual voice Lana Del Rey has been captivating our ears and the radio waves for sometime now. She has an old school vibe and new age artistic outlook that definitely makes her a musician to watch and the same can be said about her Pandora Radio Station. With artists like Lorde and Rihanna, and songs like Sail by AWOLNATION making appearances this is a Pandora Station perfect for any casual kickback with your friends or just a cool background beat for a seaside car ride. Couldn’t recommend it enough.

Of Monsters & Men Radio

I was introduced to this Station by a friend of mine and my, my, my am I so glad that I was. Florence + The Machine, Mumford & Sons, The XX, the Lumineers, Imagine Dragons need I say more? The 5 member Indie Folk band from Iceland tambourined themselves into every Indie girls dreams and their song “Who Are You” was even featured on the Catching Fire Soundtrack. This station is a must hear (a term I just created based off of must read) and destined to become one of your new, favorite Pandora  Radio Stations.

M83 Radio

I first fell in love with M83 after hearing “Midnight City” at Coachella 2012. The crowd went wild. It was an almost unspeakable experience that I shared with everyone there that night. Electric, authentic, energy is the the only description I feel does that performance justice and that is exactly how I would describe their Pandora Radio Station. With bands like Phoenix, Neon Indian, and Passion Pit making numerous appearances all the songs sound like a mixture between the hottest, 80’s video game audios and a cool vibin’ California teen chiefin’ dream, it makes for the perfect pool party playlist.

Summer Hits of the 90’s Radio

Any child of the 90’s, or just someone with immense respect for all things 90’s will love this Station. Bands like the Goo Goo Dolls, Red Hot Chili Peppers, and Incubus are all featured and with the appearance of each new song you almost instantaneously travel back to the first time you heard What It’s Like by Everlast in a cluttered garage with your friends or in the back sit of a car with your older sister and her grudging boyfriend. It’s the perfect playlist for a long car ride to work where you just want to rock out and sing every word to your one time favorite songs.

Chingy Radio

It’s like the Bar Mitzvah playlist of my dreams. This station is littered with our favorite Rap and R&B artists of yesterday year including Nelly, Bash Bash, and Frankie J. Long gone on the radio but forever instilled in our hearts in the form of booty shakin’ base jamz. The songs lack the new age, techno/galactic space voyager emphasis that is so wildly popular today and feature a more hip hop motivated rhythmic style. Definite must hear and sure to get any party started.

That’s my list of some of my favorite, totally rad Pandora Radio Stations. I am of course always open to suggestions for new music and would love to hear what Pandora Stations you guys listen to!

I hope you have a lovely day,
