Let’s just dive in!
In an ideal world I wake up at 7:00 am and then things get poppin’. “Ideal world” being the key phrase in that sentence 😉
I pee, wash my hands, brush my teeth, and then go over to my closet and put on my work out clothes. Yeah, baby!
After that I pour myself a glass of water and make a cup of coffee.
This is where it gets boring so pay attention! I sit on my couch (or the ground) for 10 minutes and mediate to some random yoga/mediation music on Spotify or the 528hz playlist I heard about from this Youtuber I like. Shoutout to Stella Rae! After mediating I write in my gratitude journal. I don’t have a minimum or maximum amount of things I write about, I more so just think about my life and everything that I have and thank God that they have been given to me. Sometimes I will write affirmations like “I am kind. I am loving. I am thoughtful. I am successful. I am a sexy bitch with a hot bod” but for the most part I stick to gratitude.
After that I pretty much plan out everything that I am going to do that day. I usually don’t have times for when I am going to complete certain task (although I probably should) I generally just write a list of everything I need to do: pay Spectrum bill, get car washed, retwist dreads, go to bank, hide body etc. and then do those tasks one by one.
After that I clean my house and this is probably the most important part of my morning routine. I can’t truly have a good, fun, productive day if my house is not clean. I’m not sure whats wrong with me. Likely some childhood trauma but that’s what has to go down in order for me to get shit done. So after I’ve polished the pots and the floors have been scrubs I “work out” lol. During my work outs I could be drenched in sweat, legs on fire, moments from vomiting or just lazily sitting on the floor lifting a 5 pound weight above my head. There is no in between.
Once I’ve finished my least favorite part of my day it’s breakfast time! Usually breakfast consists of cereal, oatmeal with fruit, or just some plain old eggs. I try to keep it simple, I got shit to do. After that its shower time and then I put on my face and pick out my clothes for the day.
I’m realizing that this is kind of a long morning routine but I look forward to doing it when I wake up so fuck it. My advice to you is to make a set morning routine and stick to it. There are so many decisions that we grown ups have to make during the day so creating a routine that you don’t even have to think about doing lessens the number of decisions you have to make. Then you can use all that brain power to focus on things that really matter like your children and sleeping.
