Your New In-Flight Entertainment?

Today my mother suggested that I become a Flight Attendant. She said that I would get paid to travel the world (which is true) and considering I have never left North America you would think I would at least be slightly enamored by this random suggestion. However, I am deathly afraid of heights and flying. Every time I fly I either need to be completely knocked out, consoled by whomever is unfortunate enough to be seated next to me as I clinch the seat handles for dear life at the slightest hint of turbulence, or mentally jilted away into a fantasy, fiction world usually created by Suzanne Collins or J.K. Rowling. Along with my fear of flying, Flight Attendants have to wait on complete strangers in immensely confined spaces which happen to be located 20,000+ feet in the sky. I have the upmost respect for the profession, as I do for ever profession and those who chose to fulfill its duties but I quickly shot down my mother’s suggestion with just a few dramatic text messages. Pardon the spelling errors. “At a” is supposed to be “it’s a” 🙂

My mother made this not so random suggestion because my aunt, her twin sister, is a flight attendant and has been for over a decade. She makes very good money, travels to Dubai, Japan, Germany, Australia and so on frequently, always remembering to send us glam shots of her and her Flight Attendant friends sitting pool side at a luxurious Arabian Hotel. However, although the idea of having to perform seat side service to dozens of patrons while soaring through the sky at 500 miles/hour (I looked it up) doesn’t completely tickle my fancy, given my current employment situation I should probably give her suggestion a little more consideration.

Since I have been home it has been difficult for me to find a consistent job. I do not have particularly high standards for my employment considering that I have not completed my degree. I would be more than happy with a simple office job: filing papers, getting coffee, answering the phone and what not, but apparently everyone already has one of those.

Craigslist and Indeed have been my main source of finding job opportunities. Given craigslist’s reputation for scams you would think I would have encountered several sketchy situations however I haven’t and have actually been on awesome interviews with great companies. Although, I didn’t get the jobs lol. But I can’t say that I don’t worry that I might go on a job interview for what appears to be a normal, professional company and end up at some kind of porn audition. This is a real scenario that happens in the porn world. (Don’t ask how I know, but I know). Thankfully nothing of the sort has happened and I have been lucky enough to go on interviews with highly regarded companies but given that I live in the valley the potential of being placed in an unwanted X rated scenario is more likely than it is in most regions. Besides Russia of course.

I am however not a quitter and after revamping my resume I am fully confident that the perfect employment opportunity is going to come my way. These things take time and if I work hard enough and believe it’s going to happen, then it’s going to happen! Until then I am really diggin’ bloggin’ and of course the new followers that I have acquired. Thank you guys for listening.

Hope you have a great day!
